The Art of Dressing Up

I recently traveled to Austin, TX to attend a friend’s Art Showcase. Austin is a pretty laid back, casual city but my friend informed me that the show was “cocktail attire”.

Say no more. If there is one thing I have mastered in this life, it’s the art of dressing up.

I had been saving my new Eloquii top for a special occasion (find it here) and I knew this was the one. Paired with my pink midi skirt (similar here) and striped clutch, I knew I would be art show and cocktail ready. (I mean, I’m always cocktail ready, but you already knew that!)

What I didn’t know is what a huge hit this look would be. Austin, you really came through with the compliments that night! I can’t tell you how many people stopped to tell me how much they loved my look, my outfit, my earrings, my hair, my vibe…

The attention-lover in me was in hog heaven! And my favorite compliment of the night was the lady who said I looked like a 1950’s Parisian Princess!

The Showcase was amazing and ended on a high note when I bought this piece from my friend.

While I was so appreciative of all the compliments, the real spotlight was on Audrey and her amazing talent. I am so glad I got to celebrate this milestone with her and she knows that when the next opportunity comes around, I’ll be dressed (up) and ready to go!

 Love and Confidence,
