I’ve had this outfit in mind for a couple of weeks now and finally, last Thursday, I had the perfect occasion to wear it. My friend, Gwyn, invited me to a happy hour/show preview at our community theatre. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to sport what I call my “polished casual” look.
I wouldn’t normally wear ripped jeans and a t-shirt to the theatre but this event was different. Our local theatre does what they call an “invited dress” where you can imbibe a bit before watching the final dress rehearsal. I knew it would be okay to make more relaxed wardrobe choices but I still wanted to look put together.
Enter my friend, the blazer.
Blazers (and heels, for that matter) are the perfect addition to ripped jeans and a graphic tee to create that “I tried but not too hard” vibe. It’s the perfect go-to for after work cocktails, Saturday brunch or even a first date!
When we arrived at the theatre, I asked Gwyn to snap a few pics for me. She happily obliged and we found the perfect backdrop. The theatre has some great architecture for photos, don’t you think??
Tee: Maurices (similar here)
Blazer: Charlotte Russe (sold out/similar by Ashley Stewart here)
Jeans: Torrid last season (check these out)
Heels: old (similar on zulily)
Love and Confidence,
PS – many thanks to Gwyn for the pics and for being one of my biggest supporters!
