Last week, I was soooo southwest!
To be honest, I’ve never actually been a huge fan. Maybe because growing up in West Texas it was too…accessible? I mean after all, New Mexico (the southwest capital?) IS right next door.
I don’t really know why but I DO know this…I’ve changed my mind!
When the southwest prints started gaining popularity, I was hesitant. Then somewhere along the way I decided, yes – I want in on that!
This black and cream sweater from several seasons ago (at Francesca’s) was my first attempt to jump on the bandwagon and I must admit, it has gotten a lot of use. The shorter sleeves make it perfect for West Texas weather since there are a lot of winter days that are chilly but don’t call for that ginormous parka I bought when I lived in Chicago.
Last year, I added to my artsy/southwestern collection by purchasing this darling fringed, waterfall cardigan at Cato.
SIDE NOTE: Have I told you guys about these jeans yet? I keep meaning to! I am in LOVE with them. They were a purchase from my last Dia & Co. box and the brand is Junarose. They were a little more than I normally would spend (around the $100 mark) but I tell you, the fit is amazing and I wear them ALL the time, so I’d say I’m getting my money’s worth.
Back to the matter at hand.
I know what you’re thinking. The cardis are great but the real pièce de résistance is that necklace!
Here’s the scoop on on the necklace. It was a regifted gift.
Yes, you read that right. A friend of mine received this as a gift and (knowing that she would never wear it but that I would) REgifted it to me. Since we live in different states, she didn’t have to worry about the original gifter finding out. Unless, of course, she reads my blog…
Eh, doubtful.
So, speaking of southwest, what’s your take on the style? Are you SO in or SO out????
Love and Confidence,
Amy
Not really a fan of anything southwest, but I love that first sweater!

I live in Dallas but hadn’t embraced the Southwest look since the ’70s (yes I’m an old hippie) but this year I’m loving my new Southwest long knit sweater vest from Forever21 & a faux suede bag.
