Letting My VBO Show

Visible Belly Outline. (VBO for short in the plus-size blogger and body positive arena.)

For most of my life I have despised my VBO. My stomach has always been my problem area, even when I was an athletic high schooler. Long shirts and loose fitting pants became my best friends, whereas body cons and tight, high-waisted skirts were nowhere in my vocabulary.

Until now.

It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around the transformation that has taken place over the past 4 months but when I stared in the mirror this morning with my VBO very clearly staring back, I had one thought. I didn’t feel disgusted like I used to when I had a belly outline in my clothes. In fact, not only did I NOT feel disgusted, I felt beautiful. It was an absolutely glorious moment for me.

Seriously, where has this girl been? I like her a lot. Not only does she let her VBO hang out loud and proud, she also wears bright summery colors on a cool day in November. She’s kind of a rad chick, if you ask me! (She didn’t even bother with Spanx this morning – now that’s one hardcore broad!)

If you haven’t gotten on the body positive train yet, let me tell you, it’s one great ride! You definitely should hop on board because if you’re reading this, I happen to know that you’re a “rad chick” too! (Unless you’re a guy who is reading this…but you get the point!)

Happy FriYAY, lovelies!

  1. I’m boarded the train just this year. I am obsessed with dress when I haven’t touched them in 15 years! This is so refreshing to find others doing the same!
