Friends and Fashion

Last week was not my best.

After a series of unfortunate events that involved waiting on a tow truck for an ungodly amount of time, I was left in a compromised emotional state. I like to think of myself as a strong, capable woman who can handle whatever life throws her way but weeks like this one prove that sometimes I’m just not that woman.

But you know what else these kinds of weeks prove to me? I have the most incredible family and friends that a girl could ever ask for. Seriously, I’m starting to tear up just thinking about all the people who support and care for me. I received calls of concern, rides to and from where I needed to go, a beer and a listening ear (sounds like a country song), words of encouragement, a loaner car while mine’s in the shop, and the list goes on.

Like I said, my friends and family are the absolute BEST.

That simple fact got me to thinking…dangerous, I know….and I decided that in appreciation for my many wonderful lifesavers, I should start a segment in my blog dedicated to them. As you’ve probably figured out, I decided to call it, Friends and Fashion! And no need to worry, it won’t just be a parade of people you don’t know. I’ll be sure to incorporate style advice, new looks I’m trying, etc.

So with that, let me introduce you to my friend, Grace.

One of the most interesting things about our relationship is how we met. I used to be Grace’s teacher when she was in high school.

A lot of people think that’s weird…until they meet Grace.

This girl is one of the funniest, most caring souls I’ve ever known. And she definitely has wisdom beyond her years. Grace and I are the type of friends that can make even the most boring of days a blast. She is creative, hard-working and extremely positive and upbeat. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with someone like that?!

She also happens to be a big fan of my blog (clearly the woman is biased) so when I asked her to take some pictures for me last night, her eyes lit up as if I had just asked her to be a bridesmaid or the beneficiary to my will or something.

Oh, and on top of that, she did a great job. Grace, I love you and you’re hired!

P.S. Recognize that top? It was the winner from my reader’s choice blog called Needy Fashionista. My readers are smart cookies because I absolutely love this Ashley Stewart Maxi Shirt (which you can find here).
