Clothes Before Bros (and Camel Toes)

Wanna hear a sad story?

If you’re like me, then your answer was, “not really” but I’m going to tell you anyway.

I bought a jumpsuit from Eloquii a few weeks back. It was a risky move for two reasons. One, it was my first Eloquii purchase so I was slightly nervous about the fit. Two, it’s a jumpsuit. To my curvy girls, need I say more? Some of us are not sized the same on top as we are on bottom and we have varying lengths of torso. Most jumpsuits I’ve tried stop at my boobs….the bottom of my boobs…or give me the worst case of camel toe you’ve ever seen. Sorry for the mental image but can we all just agree that is not acceptable?!

But there I was, being a risk-taker and ordering one anyway. Turns out my risk-taking ways paid off. The jumpsuit fit beautifully!

Now for the sad part.

I was so stinkin’ excited about my successful purchase. I carefully and lovingly hung said jumpsuit in my closet and waited for the perfect opportunity to wear it.

At the time, I was seeing someone and decided that a date night was the perfect occasion to debut my lovely buy. That upcoming Friday was the big night. We were going to do it up right…mounds of Italian food and good wine followed by a decadent dessert and walk in the park.

Then I got the call. Work. Tonight’s not going to happen.

That’s okay, we rescheduled. The jumpsuit could wait, as could I.

Round 2, or do-over date as I called it, also came and went without a jumpsuit and without mounds of Italian food or wine. This time it was a “family emergency”.

At this point all I can tell you is there may or may not have been a 3rd cancelled date and I may or may not be embarrassed at my own, foolish hopefulness (translated gullibility). Spoiler alert: I was.

That was approximately two weeks ago. The dates never happened (obvi!) and we are no longer seeing each other. Consequently, the jumpsuit hasn’t moved.

Until now.

Forget waiting for dates and decadent desserts and walks in the park.

If I want to wear a fabulous outfit to work on an otherwise ho-hum Thursday, then so be it! Besides, I bought the dang thing for me….not for some guy with an curious amount of excuses.

Oh, and to that guy, I would just like to say, this is what #winning looks like…

  1. You’re so friggin adorable! YES, girl! Wear the hot stuff to the office on a nothing day! Use the adorable expensive stationary for your grocery list. Burn the pretty (& pricey) candle while you lounge on the couch even though no one is coming over for days. Crack open that bottle of wine and drink it alongside your turkey sandwich. Because, TODAY! Live in the moment, seize the day… there has never been a better time than NOW! Waiting for whenever is boring and you, my friend, are so much better than boring! I adore you, beautiful girl!
