I love fashion. You know this by now. BUT, I also love makeup. Maybe equally…maybe more?
Whew! I feel better now that I’ve gotten that off my chest.
My full-time job is Office Manager (even though I act like my full-time job is Blogger/Social Media Creeper) but prior to this position, I taught High School Theatre for six years. I also majored in Theatre and still manage to squeeze in community plays during my free time.
When I was taking/teaching theatre classes, I was always torn as to what my favorite unit was. (For those that know me, you would say being on stage and having an audience… and you’d be right.) But beyond acting, I flip-flopped between loving costumes or makeup the most.
What I really love is the transformative power of both. Clothes and Makeup have the ability to change the shape and appearance of the human body.
Seriously, it’s amazing if you really think about it. Just a little cloth positioned the right way can completely alter the look of a person. Same with makeup. Armed with nothing more than some highlight, shadow and brushes, I can turn a teenager into a geriatric.
So, why am I telling you this?
Glad you asked. I’m really issuing a warning more than anything else. Consider this my official disclaimer that this blog may contain more than just fashion. In fact, it’s safe to say that it WILL contain more than just fashion. I have no doubt that a makeup tutorial or two will find their way into Faturday Night Live.
What can I say? I’m a theatre diva at heart and I can’t be reigned in!
In the words of Barbra Streissand, “I just don’t want to be hampered by my own limitations.”
And on that note, here’s an ooooold makeup vid for your viewing pleasure. The quality sucks and I sound like a man, but if nothing else, you’ll get a kick out of how much my hair has changed in three years.
